Abstract
A research-based textbook of Southern Hokkien (Minnanhua, Taiwanese) language in 3 volumes, with audio material (3 CDs). It uses a situation-based approach and is designed primarily for non-heritage learners who have acquired a reasonably good proficiency level of Mandarin, and wish to learn Southern Hokkien outside of its natural linguistic environment. This textbook was written as part of a collaborative project between the Department of the Languages and Cultures of China and Inner Asia at SOAS and the Graduate Institute for Taiwan Literature at National Taiwan University.
