Abstract
Three decades of effort to govern climate change has led to a significant evolution of actor networks, rule-making systems, and rules from international to local levels of governance to address this unprecedented global challenge. Yet, global emissions of greenhouse gases continue to increase year by year. This chapter provides an overview of climate change governance and suggests a number of avenues to explore to go beyond current convention and practice to effectively address the existential climate crisis.
