筆者は現在,博士研究の一環として,琉球諸語の新しい話者の育成に焦点を当てたMAI-Ryukyusプロジェクトを実施している(2019年夏~2023年夏)。本稿では,研究の問いとして,新しい話者が琉球諸語を話す原動力,標準化されていない琉球諸語の多様性を可能な限り温存した言語習得,琉球の思考の枠組み(研究パラダイム)の探究を掲げ,その中間所見に基づいて,琉球諸語話者が抱える心理的トラウマ,琉球諸語の言語運用能力を高める方法と多様性を温存する方法,琉球の思考の枠組み,現行の日本国行政の問題点について考察した。 The author currently conducts Master-Apprentice Initiative (MAI)-Ryukyus project from Summer 2019 to Summer 2023 as part of her PhD research based on Hinton’s Master-Apprentice Language Learning Program. In this article, she explores (1) new speakers' motivations to speak Ryukyuan languages, (2) language acquisition of non-standardized Ryukyuan languages without compromising their diversity, and (3) Ryukyuan (research) paradigm. Based on the interim findings, she discusses Ryukyuan language speakers' psychological traumas, how to promote Ryukyuan language competence and maintain the languages' diversity, what the Ryukyuan (research) paradigm would look like, and issues of the current Japanese government's administration on Ryukyuan languages.
