Abstract

Awino Okech describes the work of GROOTS Kenya. She argues there is need for deeper problematizing of what a feminist organization is. In looking critically at whether GROOTS is a grassroots feminist organization and how it links with other women's groups and the dominant development discourse she examines what fosters or hinders the growth of women's movements.
