Abstract

This paper is a part of a project titled 'Afghan women's resistance and struggle in Afghanistan and diasporic communities', funded by Economic & Social Research Council, UK. It is based on my field research in Afghanistan in April - May 2005. In this paper I will discuss the reality of life in Afghanistan since the fall of Taliban. The focus is on the position of women, the presence of foreign troops and the opium economy.
